Ely, Buddy, Marcus, Raimund -- they are legends, no less. And they proved that tonight without much effort. The four of them up on stage with just their music is more than enough. As my friend Tonet put it, it was "surreal". I just got home from the concert and wow, what a night it was. got there at around three and immediately lined up for our VIP tags courtesy of Chino/Raimund/Jazz/Sony-BMG (thank you!). And then we got in and eagerly anticipated the magic minute to finally come. I was with Tonet, Marj and Van. We were already inside around 5pm i think and just sat there and talked. And then it was eight-pm. And nothing was happenning yet... until the countdown started, a 10-minute countdown. It was perfect. Best.Countdown.Ever. Haha. 5-4-3-2-1... and then the montage, and then... a familiar riff. It was Alapaap. Shivers man. And then the stage lit up and there they were, one band again. May isang umaga, na tayo'y magsasama And then they went on to sing one Eraserheads classic after another... wow. And the one song i've been dying to hear them do in the concert, they got to perform -- Sembreak. And i was happy. Tapos Kailan, tapos Kama Supra, tapos With A Smile, tapos Fruitcake (merry christmas!), tapos Hey Jay, tapos Toyang, tapos Kaliwete, tapos Huwag Kang Matakot, tapos Shake Yer Head, tapos Light Years, tapos Ligaya, tapos meron pa ba? Haha. Parang may nakalimutan ako. Ah alam ko na, Huwag Mo Nang Itanong. Too bad the night had to be cut short, for very understandable reasons. Ely had to be rushed to the hospital because the "emotional and physical stress" that he's been experiencing has, i guess, become too much already. If you haven't heard yet, Ely's mom just died last week so you could imagine how hard it must have been for him to go on with the concert. But he pushed on with it nevertheless. And i just have so much admiration for him for that, as well as for the rest of the band. Nung end ng first set, kita mo na medyo pagod na siya tsaka medyo nahihirapan pero tuluy-tuloy lang siya. Kaya salamat. Salamat pa rin. Salamat sobra. I hope the band knows how much their fans appreciated the show. And i'm sure we're all just one in hoping that Ely get better soon. And i love the Eraserheads. At salamat salamat SALAMAT sa inyo at sa inyong mga kanta. Sana in the future may "isa pa". Ituloy natin 'to! Haha. This was originally on AYN's album "Songs About the Boy". Remixed it for an upcoming project. The original plan was to give it a sort of trip-hop vibe, a la Portishead/Mono, then I kind of got inspired in the middle of mixing it and decided to finish it off with a sort of arena feel. [ 1:00 ] i feel like my body clock's permanently screwed up already. i'm finding it harder and harder to wake up early as the days go by. even when there's conscious effort. you know i condition my mind before i go to sleep... "7am LEO, 7am...", i set my alarm, i pray to be woken up, i drink lots of water (para maihi, therefore magising)... wala pa rin. pero sa bagay, walang kwenta lahat ng yun kung di ako makatulog ng maaga. weirdo ba na di ako makatulog pag di nakakapagkape? nako. delikado. ngapala, as you may have noticed, i'm not doing capitals. i just want to be democratic. equal rights. you know, you shouldn't give special treatment to a letter just because it came first in a sentence. especially since the other letters in the sentence do not have any control as to where they go anyway. so fair is fair. let the punctuation marks do their job to separate the thoughts. no caps policy... except when it's my name. haha. i know i'm totally confusing my ideologies. but isn't everyone? ok, so i think i officially made myself sleepy writing this entry. wow, i bored myself. that's just... great.

... the closer I get. You're wasting your time. --- Haha! Kanina, while waiting for a table at Serye sa Festival Mall, my music player shuffled into this song. Kasama ko mga ate ko nun, tapos biglang nag-flashback 'yung mga panahong uso 'tong kantang 'to -- mga grade 2 or 3 yata ako nun. Hehe. Halos kapanahunan din ng "Love is All Around" ng Wet Wet Wet at ng "Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm" ng Crash Test Dummies. Tapos bigla kong naalala kuya ko nun na kasalukuyang abala sa kanilang banda, samantalang nakikigulo ako tuwing nagpa-practice sila. Hahaha. Tas may naalala pa kong moment. Umaga nun, tapos naghahanda si kuya na pumasok sa UP. Habang hinintay niya kumulo 'yung tubig, pinuntahan niya ko sa sala. Tanong niya ko... Kuya: "Ano bang gusto mong maging paglaki mo?" Ako: "Archaeologist!" Kuya: "Ayos aah..." Hehe. Tapos punta siya sa Encyclopedia namin, hinanap niya yung entry about Archaeology tapos pinakita niya sa 'kin. Tapos sabi niya okay daw yun at galingan ko. Wala lang, tas tuwang-tuwa ako pagkatapos nun. Idol ko talaga kasi kuya ko nun, kaya para makita ko 'yung suporta niya at malasakit and all... ang sarap lang ng pakiramdam. Kahit ngayon, pag naaalala ko... sobrang natutuwa pa rin ako na halos naluluha. Bihira rin kasi 'yung mga moments namin ng kuya ko nun bilang anlaki talaga ng agwat namin -- 10 years. Malamang di naman nila mababasa 'tong post na 'to, but I just wanted to put my appreciation for them out into the world so that maybe bumalik sa kanila ang good karma... ten-fold pa. Hehe. Ayus!
Astig ng "Ocean's Thirteen"! Hataw mula umpisa. Haha. Although "Ocean's Eleven" pa rin da best siyampre. I was kinda missing the girls dito sa third movie e. Ayun. Pero astig nga, go watch it! --- Waaaaaaaaah! --- I need focus. Right now, kalat ako eh. Kaya siguro medyo sumasakit lagi dibdib ko ngayon. Haha. Pero for some reason, it's so hard to focus. I have yet to figure out why but I'm working on it. Basta. I will get there!!! Not like you character-ni-Piolo-sa-Paano-Kita-Iibigin!
